Deadline – 23rd September, 2019
The Youth Empowerment Synergy (YES-Ghana) is inviting applications for an exciting opportunity targeting youth-led organisations to build their capacities in their efforts towards the localisation of the SDGs. Slated for November 2019, the SDG Youth Academy is a 5-day fully-funded, innovative learning experience targeting representatives of youth-led organisations working at community level to support and initiate especially local efforts at localising the SDGs. The focus of the Academy is to build technical capacities for planning and managing community-based projects for sustainable development. The training contents will be tailored to address capacity gaps identified through an Organisational Capacity Assessment (OCA) exercise, while also providing a firm theoretical and practical foundation on sustainable development. The Academy will be preceded by a four-week online learning period.
The OCA is a self-assessment tool designed by Youth Empowerment Synergy (YES-Ghana) to support the growth and development of youth-led organisations in the Voices of Youth Coalition. The aim of the OCA is to assist youth-led organisations to assess critical elements for effective organisational management and to identify those areas that need strengthening or further development. The OCA has seven components of organisational effectiveness. These are Governance, Human Resources, Management Practices, Financial Management, Service Delivery, Partnerships and Sustainability. Each of the components has a series of categories of organisational capacity and each of these, in turn, has a series of individual questions. A detailed report about the organisation’s effectiveness will be generated upon completion.
1. Be registered on Ghana Youth Directory at www http://www.ghanayouthdirectory.org/
3. Apply for the SDG Youth Academy, using a link that will be provided upon completion of the OCA.
4 Shortlisted candidates for the SDG Youth Academy will undertake a four-week online course prior to the Academy
Complete application latest by 5pm GMT, on 23rd September 2019
